Regular Meeting
Lincoln Township Board
09 June 2008
Supervisor Ringley called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call present were, West, Galloway, Branam, Ringley and Majewski. Also
present were, Lakes Director Carey, Building Insp. Mantei, Fire Chief Majewski,
Road Comm. Engineer Stocking, County Comm. Grim, Deputy Wilson, Farwell Village
Pres. Grim and 16 other interested persons.
Minutes of the 12 May work session approved as presented.
Minutes of the 12 May minutes accepted as presented.
Minutes of the 22 May special meeting accepted as corrected.
Motion by Branam to amend resolution number 052208-B, also known as the MDOT
Sidewalk Agreement, to include the wording: “Purchase of property for sidewalk
along W. Park Dr. to be included in the road right of way”, second by Ringley,
roll call vote, 5 yeas, motion carried.
Treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.
Motion by Galloway to pay the monthly bills, second by Branam, roll call vote,
all in favor, motion carried.
Fire Chief Majewski reported 3 mutual aid, 16 rescue and 4 fire related runs for
the month of May, 134 year to date.
Ringley presented Chief Majewski with a Certificate of Appreciation for 25 years
of service to the community.
Sheriffs Dept. report was given by Deputy Wilson. He also updated the blight
situations.
Lakes Director Carey recommended that we back fill around the pavilion in Silver
Lake due to a fall incident that he witnessed at the property owners meeting.
Ringley will evaluate the situation for possibly pouring a concrete ramp to
accommodate persons with mobility issues.
Motion by Galloway that Ringley sign the waiver of first right of refusal to
acquire tax foreclosed parcels, second by West, all in favor, motion carried.
Motion by Branam to accept the Clare County Equalization Contract for 2008/2009
as presented, second by Galloway, all in favor, motion carried.
Motion by West to adopt the Fire Dept. Mutual Aid Agreement, second by Galloway,
all in favor, motion carried.
Ringley acknowledged Bill Tuck requesting that sand be put at the Oak Tree
access. Ringley will take a look at the area to see if it needs fill for safety
reasons or if Bill is asking for sand on the beach area.
Motion by Branam to adjourn the meeting, second by Galloway, all in favor,
meeting adjourned at 8:36 p.m.
